The Sturkie Road Hare Scramble is the oldest race in the series. For the 21st year AHSCS treks north to race the goat trails of Sturkie. The course has its share of rocky sections but every year the layout features sections that have excellent flow through the woods. Taking advantage of the terrain there will be some climbs and descents to provide some challenge but nothing that can’t be done by determined racers.

Each year a tradition of the race is to send a portion of the proceeds to the RiderDown Foundation and this year is no exception. This is one of the great ways AHSCS racers can help the RiderDown Foundation achieve its mission of providing assistance to fallen riders. You can learn more about this great charity at www.RiderDown.org

Race fans and spectators will enjoy the race start and the open sections, which are within short walking distance of the parking. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the action! You also want to get one of the popular race t-shirts that celebrates the great tradition of this race.   Given the time of year; don’t forget your bug spray!
