The 2014 edition of “The Off Road Cup” was held on Saturday at Wyandotte, Oklahoma and the contingent of AHSCS racers who represented the series did a great job of racing.

For the second year in a row Arkansas’ Zach Ingram was on a three man team that took the overall win and the Pro Class win.  The team put in 28 laps on the 7.4 mile course, a full lap above the second place.

In the Ironman competition we had Trevor Mulhern bring home 3rd place in the Ironman Overall!  The Ironman competition is 1 racer, racing the full event lasting nine hours.  To put that into perspective our Hare Scrambles are two hour events.  The Off Road Cup Ironman is like doing four Hare Scrambles back-to-back and then riding for another hour because you can!  Mulhern put in 22 laps in 9 hours, and 7 minutes.

AHSCS President, Zac Crowl placed 4th Overall in the Ironman and brought home the 1st place award in the 35+ Ironman class.  Crowl raced 21 laps in 8 hours and 57 minutes just under the posted 9 hour window.  Crowl decimated the A35+ class, by putting in 8 laps more than the second place finisher in the class.

In the B class some of the AHSCS young talent showed how to get it done by placing 5th in the B class.  Those racers were Brad Duncan, Jay Mattson & Noah Turner.  5th in a field of 16 competitors and they knocked out 22 laps on the day.  Very nice and we are very proud of their effort.  Results here.

Deeper in the category list AHSCS shined again by bringing home 1st Place in the C class!   James King, S King and Blake Waller stamped out 23 laps and put nearly a half hour between them and the second place team in the class!  Can you say whooop, whooop!
Also in the C class Too Strong Racing’s Phillip Grist, Chad Martin and Taylor Williams put in a respectable 6th place in a field of 14 teams.  They did 21 laps in 9 hours and 18 minutes.  You can see the C class results here.

All in all this speaks really well of the competition level at AHSCS races.  We stacked up pretty good against all the other series represented at this regional event designed to determine which series is the best.  What does this mean to you?  Well when you roll to the Start Line at the Hot Water Hare Scramble, you better have your chin strap buckled and ready to race your A game.  Your lining up against some of the better racers in the middle of the continent.
