| Had to kick the bike twice on the line, so I was a bit late. Made the little 200 scream and managed to get to the second turn first. The course was looking good and about 2 miles in Shelby caught up with me. I fought him off for a while and when he got around me I just thought I would stay close and make a run at him later. Needless to say, that didn't work. I liked the course overall. The mud sections wern't too bad if you were careful and picked good lines. I even enjoyed the bogs by the start/finish area. 5th gear pinned skimming across the mud was a blast. A big "Thank You" to the course workers that helped direct us around the nasty stuff when it got too deep. For once I didn't get stuck! Overall, I had a real good day. Looking forward to the next one. |

Lined up against Steve Levain. Not much else to say, he whipped my butt.
1st lap, dropped off into a ditch without much warning, went over the bars, well not all the way over, luckily my "nether regions" slammed into the top clamp hard enough to stop me. Then about 5 miles in, I got caught in a tumbleweed size ball of rusty razor wire. That's right, razor wire. I was on the track, too. Perhaps someone else got off course and kicked it out there. Saw a snake dead across the trail. Wrestled with a limb that was hanging between 2 trees that we had to go between, that **** limb wouldn't break for anything. Watch Wibley pass me...well I didn't watch him, I felt him as he passed me, there wasn't much to see. Oh and then Levain lapped me, that was great. :( Collected another 60lbs of mud/grass to bring home to add to my collection. I'm saving up, hoping to make a nice double out of all the mud I've been bringing home. Got a "2nd place" or "1st loser" plague and went home. Iced my "nether regions", washed the bike, and looking for the next race.

Good and Bad Karma seemed to be flowing all weekend. Sat ATV race was ragin. I wanna ride that Can-am UTV with the Monster Truck Blown motor! HE plowed through everything making that trail 2 lanes wide and it scared me to death seeing it totally airborn! At the road crossing that I was at, a little too much speed on that rhythm section whoops to the road would kick the riders over the bars. I saw 3 accidents with 2 injuries. I felt bad for one rider as I told him “OK buddy, suck it up and get off the track WE are in danger here” with lots of groans he moved. It was just a broken collar bone com’on. You would think why didn’t you stop the race Rob! Well the dust was soo bad I could only hear the riders coming but we did get some XX up. It is really Dusty until you get stuck in the Mudd is the way Dani described the track after practice. Sun. Alittle rain that night helped with the dust some. The A-Team Easter Bunny (Traci) welcomed all the kids and Bill lead them out to the start area for the egg hunt (wait I know why Whibley crashed, he found a egg!). Jojo gets on his bike to go line up with his brand new Scott cotton t-shirt and Sneakers on. I‘m like really? How long have you been racing? He was eager to race with his buddy Ross, Braxton and other riders more his age but was hot happy having to line up on the back row. After a nice hole shot He hammered down going for an o/a. At the first rd xing he was right on Braxton tail in 4th o/a. He said that racing with Braxton was the best part of the day they switch positions a few times until he lost the back end and as he put it “wadded it up bad” His leg looked like a bad egg coloring accident the next day but he was pretty proud of that first place. I appreciated the race status from the chase riders as we help the kids though the tougher root sections. I counted Jojo as 3rd o/a but the score sheets showed different? Dani and Devon were ready to go in the School boy class. Devon had raced the sacred Beta 350rr and won the day before so he knew the Track well. I told Dani to just follow and learn the track so as a typical teenager she listened to Dad and pull the hole shot. At the first crossing Devon came out first and almost jumped the road! something I would not see again until the Pro class. Dani has been battling real bad head shake on some high speed tracks but Devon was just flat hall’n until he ran outa gas. Dani stopped and offered a ride but he said his dad was close by. Dani got 1st but knows she needs to work on the fast stuff. Pro class was huge! 15 riders. The kids and I loved the autograph session before hand. Gave the top guys recognition and a chance to “give back”. I asked Trent “How did it feel to lead Whibey”, “SCARY!” he replied. You could feel that 450 closing on you. There was no doubt he was coming BY or THROUGH you, so I just pulled over. Parker looked really good until “it blew”. He has said that new YZ has always felt slow, maybe he will find out why. Mike and I went out to catch the super whoops section. We thought we were at the wrong place when Bobbit and Whibley scorched them like Stewart! Must riders had no problems; I figured they were something different for most off roaders or even MXrs. Every time I would find a rider stuck or need help another rider was there helping or giving rides back to the pits. I knew even though this was an OMA race, AHSCS riders were there. Bobbit looks nimble and quick dancing through the woods while Whibley had big smooth lines on that big 450 and Nick F. technical on the pegs mistake free. These guys are in a different league and were a pleasure to watch. My opinion having an OMA, GNCC what ever in AHSCS is good for our series but it needs to be run up to our standards and maybe run AHSCS on Sat. and the BIG BOY race on Sun.?
