Hey everyone just wanted to clarify some rumors for you!
First, the RFGP is still on for the 16th annual coming up in less than 5 months on November 27-28, 2010. Hopefully we can get some good weather this year, we are definately due for a nice, warm dry year after the past three have been so nasty! Seems like the RFGP weatehr pattern runs in three year cycles...3 bad then 3 good so cross your fingers!
The other thing is that I have sold Atlas Apparel(Precision Graphix) to a new owner effective yesterday so I am officially unemployed as of today! Hoping to move to the Dallas area sometime this fall so if anyone has any hook ups down there...I need a job! So yeah, we are leaving the state, but its not that far and I will still have family in the Ft Smith area so I plan to keep coming back up to do the RFGP for at least another 4 years or so. I had always joked that I would stop at 20 years, but never really thought the place would last that long...so who knows... might go for 25!
Just didnt want anyone thinking it was cancelled or over! Definately not! This year will be awesome as usual!
im ready never raced there before heard it was awesome cant wait maybe it will be snowing that would be cool i love racing in the snow its a blast.by the way im from minnesota
you shoulda been at white rock enduro this year! Fun for the first half of the race, then kinda miserable. My first snow race, so it was a good experience. Plus it was my best result in an enduro (with no computer too) :)
I hope the conditions are JUST like last year at RFGP. I could use a do over after running out of fuel on the last turn of the last lap at that race.
man jake... white rock was no joke for sure...geez got what 20inches or some crap? geez, nuts! RFGP wsa perfect last year for sure, planning on using the same main loop with just a little side loops in assuming we get a dry summer. Heck, theres 4 miles underwater that we havent ridden on since 08!
that's a shame about the 4 unusable miles... hope it dries up the rest of this summer for next time around.
Getting TO white rock was a doozy for me. I came up the pig trail (23) the day of, only to see there was snow accumulating on the road. Tire tread on the ol' wagon was down to the wear bars and the bike on the back makes for interesting handling. Add on a warped left front brake rotor, the trip was interesting to say the least and took me probably an extra 45 minutes on the pig trail alone! fun fun. on the way back home, I took 16 out to fayetteville for another hour out of the way. Glad I went though.
Boogieville will continue for sure! I plan to have my regular crew get the course set up and me come up just for race weekend...its just an awesome place to ride and put on a race!
