Kid's B class. What should we expect?

Post by Fatherofdaughters »

My oldest daughter started riding last year. She's 9. A very small 9.....
We started on her a crf50, but moved her up to a ktm50 senior towards the end of the year.
We did several races at PBMX. It was pretty laid back with only the occasional fast kid.
It was a very good fit for her developing skill level. Then......... we signed her up for the arenacross event a Barten. Those kids were all stupid fast! And bc she was on a senior, she had to ride with them.
Now, we are looking to do the Kirby scramble. Because of her age and bike, she is forced into the Kid's B class. What should we expect from the competition? What Bikes are they riding in that class? I don't expect her to win, but I don't want her to get hurt or lose interest in the sport.
Thanks
Ryan

Thanks for the reply.
What bikes are the kids in B class normally riding? 50s? 65s?

Kids B, will be a great class for her. She will have other girls to ride with and some Ktm 50, crf50 up to the 65 and pit bikes. She may not be the fastest but it doesn't look like she will be the slowest either.
Look at these albums on morning races. Kids B # are from 50-99 https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id ... 272732%3A6

What Rob said...above + The Kids B class sounds like the perfect fit. The tracks will be different, more closed up and narrow usually not bar width for the kids course yet significantly more narrow than an MX track. And, the Kids course racers always get a sighting lap before the race to see the course and settle the jitters. That sighting lap is designed to be slow so she can see what to expect. Welcome to the Series, she'll make a lot of friends quick.
