The track was great this is grumbling at myself
My mistake in forgetting several important adjustments after assembly made for a tiring race along with no seat time on this bike since black bird
I felt out of control and struggled to stay on the bike while it destroyed my arms
Last year the sand was no problem this year the front end knifed badly and just felt out of control
About lap 2 I could not remember if I had reset the clickers front and rear. Nope
The compression was at 0 and the rebound was full on.
Great for learning what a packing suspension feels like not so great for a two hour race
Brake pedal was off a different chassis and I neglected to set the free play and height
So I was constantly locking the rear inadvertently if my toe was near the pedal .....such as some of the small hills ...
Riding the rut .....I'm terrible at it regardless of bike setup
Several spots on the track quickly became a deep single track
Any tips tricks???? It wears me out and is NOT fun
Can't wait until the next one

I'm not any good at riding the ruts either but have been told the trick is to look way ahead and go. DO NOT stare at your front tire.
Re: Grumble on the rumble
Do not try and steer thru the rut, flow with it. If you can, get your front tire on the top side of the rut, and let the back drop where it wants to.
stand up if the rut isn't too deep and let the bike flow with you and move.
none of this applies in the deep sand.
Sand: weight off the front tire, unless you want to eat sand, WOT, smile.

Yea, I've always found it easiest to just let the bike do it's thing after you get seated in a rut. Just let the bike rail and don't try to steer it to much.

It's not proper, because almost all of us have been there. It like living in the glass house of mirrors and throwing rocks at your reflection.Patrick wrote:58 views and no one wants to have any fun at my expense?
