On the start, do we put our clutch hand on or head or do we just sit ready to start the engine when the flag lifts? Haven't raced in many years, so was wondering.

The hands on the head only applies to electric bikes. If you have a gas-burning bike, you can start the bike anyway necessary after the green flag has waved.
