Anodizing Rims

Post by ZacCrowl »

Some of you have asked about anodizing rims in the past. Just thought I'd share a before and after and a few other things.

One: the takasago sticker on rims is some sort of acid applied sticker, does not come off easily and will still be faintly visible after anodizing.

Next, the rims which I believe are normally a 7075 series aluminum are either welded with 5356 or 4043 rod, this shows up as a dissimiliar metal when the rims are stripped of their original clear anodizing. Nothing I can do about it. After re-anodizing black the line is nearly non-existant.
