2018 Darrell Judy Memorial Hare Scramble

Post by Ajudy300 »

Hey Everyone! Hope all of you are enjoying your winter break from racing. We have been working hard getting things ready for race day. This year's event is on Feb 10-11. Might seem like a long time away for some, but it will get here fast! So get out in the garage, dust off those bikes, and get ready for some AHSCS racing!

2018 Event Flyer is up and ready to share.

Notice NO Saturday racing event for this year. Decided we will just have an open ride day. Riders will be able to ride on what was basically last years hare scramble race course. $10 to ride all day long.

Sunday's race course is a completely separate loop. It is made up of about 50% brand new trails and the other 50% is trails that haven't been raced on for about 5 years now. This brand new course layout will be off limits for pre riding on Saturday. the exact mileage of the loop has yet to be determined. Racers may walk or mountain bike the course on Saturday if they wish to do so. Will post more race course info in the coming weeks.

Make sure to check our facebookpage and/or the AHSCS website often for updates.

We look forward to seeing all of you there!!!

Race weekend and track info:

Just got done doing a lap on the trusty ttr125. Strava didn’t get the mileage right. But it did get the lap time. And I was able to record it on the GoPro. Lap time was about 25 minutes long. So for Race day I’m pretty confident the Pro riders will get 6 laps in.

Also, last years course is trashed from the epic mud races we have been hosting year after year. Most of that loop will be open to ride on Saturday race weekend. It’s not too clapped out to ride on, but we feel it just wouldn’t be the most enjoyable to race on. So this year we are running a whole new loop across the dirt road from camp. If tight and technical is your thing, then this track is for you! Its got some steep climbs and descents. Some creek crossings. Some off camber. Some 1st gear tight stuff. Some good flowy stuff. And just a little bit of grass track.

The track doesn’t run through camp this year(except for peewee). The pit area is not next to camp either. Sort of a similar set up like bear creek. So if you need a hand hauling pit supplies down to the pit area, please to not hesitate to ask one of our event workers. We will have a fourwheeler and trailer specifically set up to help haul your stuff down to the pit area.

We look forward to seeing everyone here. Expect to have a great time as always. Bring a buddy. Camp out. Bring an appetite. Concessions open all weekend long. Spaghetti dinner Saturday night. Going to be a good time!
