Timber Rush Top List of THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Post by ShelbyJohnson »

Racers! We compiled a top list of things you need to know before you head out to the race.

Here’s #1.
DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS map app on your smarty phone. It’s going to lie to you. Instead, grab a map, and drive all the way to Gravelly, Arkansas. If you are heading west turn right at the church onto Young Gravelly Road. If you are heading east at the Church turn left onto Young Gravelly Road and go 1.6 miles and turn left. Boom you’re there. If you arrive at the race and tell us that you got lost following your GPS we are going to laugh....ummmm with you.

Here’s #2
Gas up before you come! There’s no convenience stores close to the race. The nearest gas station to the east is at Rover nearly 19 miles away. Rover has diesel but it is not pay at the pump. Danville has pay at the pump after hours diesel. It is about the same distance as rover from Gravelly (also east) but turn North off HWY 28 a few miles before Rover and go over a little mountain. Again BRING A MAP if your a directionally challenged. These things called maps are printed on paper and it’s is good idea to have one. Danville has the hospital, fast food, grocery store, hardware store, auto parts, gas stations, etc.

To the west you can find gas at either Waldron (41 miles) or Y City (36 miles). Plan ahead and be sure to fuel up your extra jug.

On the way to the race heading west you will lose MOBILE TELEPHONE COVERAGE past Rover. Heading east you will love MOBILE COVERAGE a little past Parks. There’s a high ridge not too far from Harvey where you might pick up signal again for a little bit but it won’t last long.

Now we’re pretty sure humanity has survived for thousands of years without stuff like 4G, LTE and phoning your bestie, so if that’s your thing just know that out here in the Free State of Yell there’s some gaps in the mobility coverage. This also explains number 1, you know, the reason the smarty phone might lie is because it’ll be off the grid. Those smarty phones don’t work without coverage. Remember #1 bring a map!

Over this season we've learned there's a few avid racers who need their social media connection just nearly as much as they need air to survive. Now we are not naming names or anything... but some of you might could guess who. So we figured as soon as those folks get to the race they’ll be dying to update their status, invite friends and show off race results. So tweet, post, tag and share using the hashtag #TimberRush we want to see those pictures too, we’ve got WiFi!

Yep you heard that right... WiFi available at the pits. This also means our racer moms and dads will be able to use their smarty phones to get live scoring results via the AHSCS Results page.

We kind of like to call it Timber-Fi down here, and we bet you'll be able to guess the password. #TimberRush

This one is REALLY IMPORTANT, so pay attention please.

If you are towing a bigger rig, that you, and the family are going to live in over this joyous weekend then we are going to need you do something very specific for two reasons. We need you to follow the reds arrows!

Firstly, because right about in the middle of this hayfield there's low ground that holds water, and what with all this rain if you try plowing right through there you are apt to get stuck hub deep!

Second, because we are expecting a big turnout from the community and we are going to need to snug up with our camping in order to make room for parking all the fine folks who are coming to watch the races.

We are really looking forward to a dynamite weekend of racing on a really awesome track. To stay up on the latest on Timber Rush news visit our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/TimberRush/
