A brief discussion provided members a recap of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the season. Despite the situation AHSCS managed to adapt the schedule and still have racing. The attendance and race entries have been slightly up compared to last year.

The 2021 Race Calendar is almost set, racers should expect the schedule to be published soon. There are two new race locations, one near Dover and one near Rison.

William Burns, Triple Threat XC Promoter, raised a rule book issue concerning double arrows, where the promoter intends for racers to follow a specific section of track. The racer at speed can misinterpret only one arrow on each side of the track. Discussion followed. Gould Motioned to adopt a rule change to require Double stacked arrows on both sides of the track for double arrows. It was determined a quorum was not present and the issue would be taken up via the Promoters Message Board.

There being no other business, Tart opened the floor to receive feedback from members.

1) Schedule Time for Short course Issue. The issue was that Short Course races always seem run behind schedule.

Discussion followed. One idea was to Invert the morning schedule. Several other ideas were discussed. Tart pledges to take this issue to the Promoters Message Board.

2) Women’s Class Division. The issue was Women’s class has seen high participation this season and may be time to consider dividing the Women’s Class into levels such as Women’s A and Women’s B divisions. Discussion followed.
Tart pledges to take this issue to the Promoters Message Board.

3) Trail riders class. The issue was riders entering the Trail Rider Class who end up racing through other classes and finishing at a high level. This means the trail rider has interfered with ongoing races in other classes, which is not the purpose of the trail rider class.

Discussion followed. One idea was to cut the length to one hour. Another idea was to eliminate the class. Tart pledges to take this issue to the Promoters Message Board.

No other issues were raised.

Many members present congratulated the Series and thanked Officers & Promoters.

Tart wrapped up the meeting with a brief discussion on the AHSCS continuing to receive donations to the Tyler Lawrence Memorial Fund, which purpose is to honor Tyler’s memory by promoting the sport among youth riders. Members may donate at any time. Tart stated the Series has not finalized exactly how the funds will be used, and that a youth program to benefit our young members will be developed soon.

Meeting adjourned. Camp fire fellowship and bench racing ensued. :-)
